Traders Hail Obi’s Developmental Strides

President-General of the Amalgamated Market Traders’ Association of Anambra State, Dr. Okwudili Ezenwankwo, said in Onitsha that its members were impressed with the progressive leadership qualities of Anambra’s Governor Peter Obi.

Ezenwankwo made the declaration when he spoke with newsmen after rising from a market leaders stakeholders’ meeting.

He said that the traders were giving the governor maximum support and vote of total confidence in his leadership style especially as it concerned his numerous achievements in the past six years.

The market leader said that the administration had brought peace to various markets by ensuring that due and credible elections were conducted in the markets.

Ezenwankwo said that the governor had supplied transformers to markets, tarred all roads leading to markets in Onitsha, reduced the burden of multiple taxes and given traders support to carry out their activities.

“Well, as the head of traders in the state, I can tell you now, that our Governor, Mr. Peter Obi is doing perfectly well.”

“That is why all the traders in the state are giving him the maximum support we ought to give him.

“Because since in the creation of this state, no governor has done up to a quarter of what Peter Obi’s administration has done.

“Talk of massive construction of roads, equipment in the schools, hospitals, even empowering the town unions, All the town unions in Anambra State, I can tell you that Gov. Obi’s administration is developing this state simultaneously.’’

The market leader, however, urged the governor to expedite action on the mono-rail project from Onitsha to Awka, adding: “that is a project that will affect the lives of millions as well as write the governor’s name in the sands of history.’’
