Subsidy Probe: Don Urges Report Implementation
A lecturer at the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, Mr Chris Ufomba, has urged the Federal Government to fully implement the fuel subsidy probe report.
Ufomba said in Aba that the report could be an instrument to rekindle Nigerians’ confidence in government.
He said that government should treat the report with dispatch since Nigerians were already aware of the bribery allegation rocking the House of Representatives Ad- hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy.
“Don’t throw the baby away with the bath water. We want the matter to be properly investigated. Let the truth be told,” he said.
Ufomba, the Dean of School of Business and Management Technology at the institution, described the bribery allegation as shocking.
He, however, said that the allegation should not be used to stall the prosecution of those indicted by the report.
“Police should make thorough investigation and those found wanting should be prosecuted. We are interested in recovering everything. Let us see how much was recovered. “Let a very bad situation be salvaged and let this probe not go the way of the previous probes,’’ he said.
Hon. Farouk Lawan, Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad- hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy probe, was suspended recently following alleged three million dollars bribe.
