Rivers Spends N30bn On Greater Port Harcourt
The Rivers State Government, says it has spent a total of N30 billion so far in the Greater Port Harcourt City development project of the present administration.
Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt city development Authority, Aleruchi Cookey-Gam who disclosed this at the weekend to newsmen in Port Harcourt, said that the amount was spent in the first phase of the programme.
She said that so far, about 3,000 housing units have been built, and are almost ready for use at the Igwuruta axis of the Greater Port Harcourt city Development Authority project.
According to her, other logistics were being worked out to ensure that every thing was put in place to accomplish the vision for the programme, as other phases of the project will be unfolding.
The Administrator however called on private property developers to always visit or call on the authority of the Greater Port Harcourt City for clearance on issues of housing development within the marked areas of the Greater Port Harcourt.
Mrs Cookey-Gam also advised property developers and those who want to acquire land, particularly in areas that are closer to Greater Port Harcourt axis to get clearance from the authority, before embarking on such venture, so as to avoid unpleasant consequences.
