Princewill Canvasses Ideology Driven PDP

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Tonye Princewill, has urged the ruling party to be ideological driven as he said most of the political parties in the country are only conscious of victory.

Princewill who stated this recently during a radio interview in Port Harcourt, said he has offered himself to the leadership of the party to assisting it to form an ideology that will help the party and keep it ahead of others in the country.

The PDP chieftain, who dumped his former party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) said it was time for political parties to start defining and identifying their ideology, adding that, this would form message, ideas and what they want to achieve for the country if they are voted in.

According to him, in the days of the National Republican Party (NRC) and Social Democratic  Party (SDP) there were an ideology in the choice of political party.

“These two political parties then had a message and idea and what they intend to achieve if voted into power”, he said.

On reasons why he left the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the former Action Congress leader in Rivers State said he wanted a platform that is more nationalistic in outlook than a regional political party which CAN is of the moment coupled with other factors.

Princewill also noted that he left his form party because the boarden of sustaining the party in the state and region became too much for him.
