The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Musa Daura, has urged commercial motorcyclists in the state to be law abiding over the ban on their operation in Enugu metropolis.

Daura, who gave the warning in a statement in Enugu, said the attention of the command had been drawn to a proposed protest by the motorcyclists over the recent ban by the state government.

He said the government’s action was in the interest of the entire citizens of the state, and called on the cyclists to embrace the ban in good faith.

Daura warned that any group of persons or individuals that engaged in any act that caused disorder or threat to the peaceful atmosphere in the state would be apprehended and prosecuted.

He said the command was partnering with other security agencies in the state to arrest anyone who organised, supported or participated in any protest over the ban.

Daura advised parents and guardians not to allow their sons, daughters and wards to be used to cause disorder in the form of protests.

He called on law-abiding citizens to go about their normal business as the police was ready to protect their lives and property.
