The Oyo State House of Assembly, has declared that the state government under Governor Abiola Ajimobi recent sacking of 3000 civil servants from the state civil service was in order.

Hon. Segun Ajanaku, the chairman of the state house of assembly adhoc committee constituted by the State House of Assembly leadership to review the merit of the workers’ disengagement told newsmen that the sacking was justifiable, proper and in order.

He disclosed that from the committee’s findings, majority of the sacked workers were actually guilty of the offences that led to their disengagement from the state civil service.

Hon Ajanaku said “from our findings so far we have discovered that so many of the sacked workers are guilty of the offences they were said to have committed.

The house adhoc committee chairman said “some of the sacked workers actually falsified their certificates, others after being in service went to acquire fake certificates probably to retain their jobs and get promoted.

He further said some sacked workers had stayed long in service and due for retirement but falsified their ages in order to escape retirement.

Hon. Ajanaku said “having taking a dispassionate look at the issue of the sacked workers, I think the state government is justified by the action, if it is true that we want to sanitise over society and bring about efficient public service, things have to be put in order”.
