Man Docked For Stealing

A 24-year-old man, Amefiok Igwok Johnson, has been docked by a Port Harcourt Magistrate Court for stealing.

The accused who resides at No. 1 Sotoye Street GRA Phase II, Port Harcourt, Rivers State is standing trial on a one court charge of theft before magistrate Chituru J. Oreh.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Amakiri Sampson told the court that the accused person sometime in the month of March, 2012 at No. 1 Sotoye Street GRA Phase II in the Port Harcourt Magistrial District did steal the sum of one million, Two thousand naira (1,200,000.00) kept in his custody belonging to one Nyewuna Bright Obinda.

The Police prosecutor alleged that the accused committed an offence punishable under section 390 (6) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 11, Laws of Rivers State, 1999.

The presiding magistrate Chituru J. Oreh granted the accused bail on the following terms; one million naira (1,000,000) bond, surety to swear to affidavit or means and to attach two passport size photographs.

The surety, residence is to be verified by the prosecutor. The matter has been adjourned to the 27th of July 2012.
