Firm Donates ComputerAccessories To Union

EVOMEC Global Services Limited, has donated computer  accessories to National Association of Plant Operators (NAPO), Bonny zone as part of efforts to foster labour relations in Rivers State

Presenting the items to the Union in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Managing Director of the company (EMVOMEC), High Chief Peter Esiero, said the gesture was to assist the Union carry out its operation effectively in this global  ICT age.

Represented by the administrator of the company, Mr Tonye Dixon Atemie, Esiero said he was poised to contribute his quota to ensure that the union moves forward.

He also thanked members of the Union for the recent award of “Excellence of Good Manager and Workers Relationship” given to him, adding that it had impacted positively on the workings of the company.

He used the opportunity to assure NAPO members of his continuous support and urged them to make good use of the computers.

Earlier, the chairman of the group (NAPO), Comrade Harold Benstowe had lauded the company over its kind gesture, saying that the items would go a long way in enhancing its operations in the area.

Benstowe used the opportunity to call on the Federal Government to speed up the enactment of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), especially as it concerns local content Act.

He explained that the Bill would not only bring succour to the unemployment challenges confronting the country, but would boost its economy when it is passed into law.

The NAPO leader also urged the state government to gain from the long experience of the company in the areas of construction and engineering works by awarding job contracts to them, while charging companies operating in Bonny to borrow a leaf from EVOMEC by reaching out to the unions in the area.
