Fed Cup: Quarter Final Matches Hold Today … Shark, Others Battle For Semi Final Tickets

The quarter final matches of the 2012 Federation Cup will be decided today across four centres as qualifiers seek to go one step towards the Federation Cup title.

Rivers State flag bearers, Sharks FC after emerging runner-up to Prime FC at the Ibadan centre are pitched against Bauchi centre Winner, Lobi Stars of Makurdi.

Expectation amongst the teaming fans and football lovers in Port Harcourt is that Sharks FC overcomes the Lobi Stars hurdle and book a place in the semi final stage.

According to some of them, Sharks FC is currently in a good form, plays good football and deserves to go all the way to the title, or at least secure a ticket for continental assignment next season, either through the Premier League or the Federation Cup.

At the Port Harcourt centre, the Sharks FC Stadium, defending champion Heartland FC welcomes Crown FC of Ogbomosho in a tricky encounter. Heartlan topped the Port Harcourt centre, while Crown edged out Elkanemi Warriors and Kwara United to finish runner up in Lagos.

Former champion, Enyimba International FC of Aba will lock horns with giant killers, Prime FC of Oshogbo in Ibadan. Prime recorded the major upset of the group stage after upsetting Rangers and Sharks to top the Ibadan centre. Their strength will once again be put to test against another heavy weight today.

In Lagos, high riding Kano Pillars welcomes Plateau United, which against popular expectations qualified from the Port Harcourt centre at the expense of Gombe United and Premier League designate side, Nasarawa United FC.
