Ex-LG Boss Tasks Opposition On Future Polls
Former Chairman of Asari, Toru Local Government Area Chief Aroloye Brown, has charged opposition parties in Rivers State to work harder to remain relevant in the next local government and general elections.
Brown, who dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) posted on his wall in facebook, urged other political parties to salvage the state and not to allow the PDP to always have its way.
According to him, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), The Labour Party and the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) should concentrate salvaging six or more local government areas.
“The oppositions should work and stop rigging. This is the only way we can have balance views and opinion in the state.
Our various governors are like emperors with bunches of bad advisers who never listen to the voices of the people”, he said.
Chief Brown urged the opposition parties to inculcate the idea of one man one vote to the people, adding that this will create balance views in the state House of Assembly and stop easy passage of bills which many regards unfair to the people.
The former local government chairman, however, tasked all the oppositions in the state to commence sensitisation of the people on how to protect their votes during elections.
