Following the charge of Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi to Dolphins FC to battle and return to the top of Nigeria Premier League table and win the league, beginning with victory today in Owerri against Heartland FC, the team is poised for a titanic battle at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.

The fixture is one of the rescheduled midweek matches of the NPL and one Dolphins must get a positive result from to maintain chances of overhauling the league log, with four matches remaining.

On Monday, after presenting cheques and cars to Dolphins Manager and captain for winning the 2010/2011 league title, Governor Amaechi challenged them to retain the league title and return to the Government House for a new set of cars.

He further urged the team to beat Heartland today and all the players would receive their own cars in one fell swoop, otherwise, they would be delayed.

Indeed, Dolphins players, who were excited to have been rewarded for their last season’s success were in positive mood and promised to go the extra mile to upstage their host today.

It will be a titanic contest as Heartland FC is equally pressed for good result, especially at home.

After losing to Enyimba in a derby-like encounter in Aba last week, they would be in no mood to surrender the point to another opponent they see as rival neighbours.

The fixture promises enthrall moments and the side with the higher determination and ability to take its chances would come out tops at the end of the 90 minutes.
