Dolphins, Rivers Angels Get Rewards

Rivers State Government will today officially receive both Dolphins and Rivers Angels Football Clubs in the Government House premises Port Harcourt.

The reception follows their impressive performance last football season when Dolphins won this 2010/2011 Nigeria Premier League title and Rivers Angels carted home the females’ Federation cup.

This was disclosed by the media officer Ministry of Sports, Julie Masi, yesterday in Port Harcourt.

According to her, the state Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi is expected to receive the players and reward them, especially with car gifts.

It will be recalled that the state Commissioner for Sports, Hon Fred Igwe had said that this administration led by Governor Amaechi is poised to develop  and reward sports from the grassroots.

According to him, this administration is not only committed to develop and promoting sports, but to also reward those who excelled in their various sporting events.

He noted that that explains the reason why the governor is spending so much money on sports facilities.
