Civil Service Week Begins, Sunday

Programme of activities for the 2012 Civil Service Week celebrations in Rivers State has been released.

A statement signed by the chairman of the celebrations, Dr. George Nwolu, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works indicates that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi would be the special guest of honour.

According to the statement, the week would begin on Sunday, July 15, 2012, with a thanksgiving service at the Righteousness International Ministries, Off Peter Odili Road, Port Harcourt.

The statement notes that on the same day a special seminar would be held for all Permanent Secretaries and Directors in the Rivers State Civil Service at the Ministry of Justice Auditorium, Port Harcourt after the church service.

The statement invites the general public to the opening ceremony that will take  place at the main bowl of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt on Monday July 16, 2012 by 10.00 am.

According to the statement, the theme for this year’s celebration is “Capacity Development for the Implementation of the Transformation Agenda”, while the celebration would also feature lectures, sports, essay writing competition and visits to charity homes.
