Church Condemns Same Sex Marriage
The Diocease of Niger Delta Anglican Communion, has described the legalisation of same sex marriage by the American Episcopal Zion Church as satanic and unbiblical.
The Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Ralph C. Ebirien, who said this in an interview with newsmen after the Trinity ordination of the Diocease, said that, the Church of Nigera would never be part of anything that promote evil in the society.
“The Church of Nigeria have nothing in support of gay marriage, the Church of Nigeria have no sympathy for it and today, we condemn it, it is not Bibilical”, he said.
Rt Rev. Ebirien also said that the Church was seriously praying that God should change the minds of members of the Boko Haram sect, to enable them channel their energies to things that will improve the welfare of humanity.
He further said that within the last three years, six churches had been planted within the Diocese, while the existing churches are growing stronger both spiritually and physically.
The bishop charged the newly ordained priests and deacons to be diligent and discipline in their different Churches, noting that it is the only way that they can win souls for Christ.
In his sermon entitled, “Ye do not choosed me I chose You”, the Retired Bishop of Nsukka Diocease of Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Jonah C. Ilonuba charged the newly ordained Priests and Deacons to see their elevation as a call to win souls for Christ.
Rt. Rev. Ilonuba also warned them to beware of associating with preachers who acquire satanic powers for miracles who now parade themselves as agents of light.
The clergyman also condemned the practice of homosexuals in churches, describing it as satanic, urging them to hold tight to those sound doctrines which the Anglican Communion as known for.
Some of the ordained priests and deaconees who spoke to newsmen later, on pledged to dedicate their lives to the service of God and the church.
The service which held at St. Bartholomew Church Degema witnessed the ordination of ten new deacons and nine priests.
