Chairman Cautions Bundu Community Against Violence
The newly elected chairman of Bundu Ama in Port Harcourt City Local Government, Comrade Williams Addah, has advised youths in the state, particularly Bundu Ama, to shun violence.
Comrade Addah, who gave the advice shortly after his election, urged them to use dialogue to settle crisis at all times, stating that harmonious living was a key to development.
According to him, his administration was poised to ensure that people in the community live peacefully and harmoniously.
“My administration is determined to sustain the peace that is existing in the community. We will be focused to bring development to the entire people” Addah said.
Comrade Addah, who is also the vice chairman (Administration) of Nigeria Labour Congress, Rivers State pledged to carry every one along, adding that there were no losers in the election.
He appealed to members of Bundu Ama to be united and assist the executive to achieve their aims and objectives.
“I want to say that this election does not have losers, everybody is a winner, so we should come together to build the community. The aggrieved people should also forget what has happened and look to the future, besides my administration would adopt an open door policy”, he added.
The NLC vice chairman thanked the community for the confidence reposed in them. Other elected members of the committee include: Mr Gentle Asechiemie, vice chairman, Mr Michael Clifford, secretary, Mr Deinma Fibresima, Asst. secretary and Chief Dere Biengbo Ofokome treasurer.
