Marseille forward, Andre Ayew is on track in his return from shoulder surgery after taking part in a friendly against Benfica recently.

The Ghana international picked up the injury while representing his country at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, but decided to put off surgery until later in the season.

Ayew went under the knife on April 24, and was expected to be out for three months.

He made an appearance in Marseille’s 2-0 friendly loss to Benfica recently, and said his recovery is well on track.

“Personally, I had not played for a month and a half. My legs were tired, but I returned gradually. My shoulder is better and this is what is most important,” Ayew told Marseille’s official website.

Ayew has been the subject of much speculation, and it is believed he may be tempted to leave the French outfit in order to play in the Champions League.
