APGA Ready For Anambra LG Pollsa
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has expressed its readiness to participate in the local government elections in Anambra whenever the state Independent Electoral Commission(ANSIEC) releases the timetable for the polls.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Mike Kwentoh, told newsmen in Awka on Thursday that the party was looking forward to the elections.
“We are waiting for ANSIEC to come up with the time table for the elections. ‘We are fully ready, we are prepared all the time, we sold our councillorship and chairmanship forms in 2011. “All we are waiting is for ANSIEC to roll out the time table, as soon as it is out, we key-in,” he said.
Kwentoh maintained that APGA remained a strong party in spite of what he called “cases of misunderstanding’ which he said were normal in politics.
“APGA is intact, APGA in solid, there may be cases of one misunderstanding or the other, but that is not peculiar to APGA as a party. “It is only making the party stronger and bigger, it is a welcome development, people call it politics. “Every aspect of the party secretariat is intact and it is like that in all other state,” he added.
On the party’s chances at the polls, the chairman said it had done well in the state to guarantee its victory.
The ANSIEC last week got the go ahead order to commence preparations for the council elections but no date has been fixed for the polls.
