Amaechi Charges Cleric On Dedication To God
Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, has charged the Overseer of Abundant Life Evangelical Mission (ALEM), Apostle Eugene Ogu on more dedication to God.
Speaking at a special thanksgiving service to mark Apostle Ogu’s 50th birthday in Port Harcourt, Governor Amaechi asserted that it was one way to attract more God’s blessings.
Governor Amaechi while congratulating Apostle Ogu for attaining the golden age of 50 said, “let me congratulate you, Apostle Eugene Ogu and also congratulate your wife and wish you God’s blessings, and say to you I listen to your rendition and saw how God has taken you from grass to grace.”
In the light of God’s numerous favours on him, the Rivers State governor opined that the Apostle cannot afford to be cold in God’s vineyard, emphasising that, “you cannot afford to play with God because if you do, you will not hear from God again,
. “You must stay in the presence of God,” he said.
With more commitment to God’s service, Rt Hon Amaechi said that others would be richly blessed through him, saying, “people like us who are just worshippers can afford to sin and come back but a man of God cannot… So, when they said pray for him, I can tell you the prayer I made for you”.
The governor prayed God to give Ogu more wisdom, long life, grace and strength to continue in this service, observing that the apostle cannot afford to wane since a lot of people are looking upto him as a role model and minister of God.
Later in his remarks, Apostle Ogu expressed appreciation to the governor and his deputy, Engr Tele Ikuru and their wives for gracing the occasion, adding that ‘ “there are questions your presence has answered,” he added.
He lauded Governor Amaechi for his transformational governance in the state.
Apostle Ogu was of the view that the Amaechi-led administration was divinely instituted, ‘ God has chosen you to do what He chooses you to do, for what you are doing in the state, let no one consult an oracle,” he said.
The overseer of ALEM said he felt fulfilled as a person, since what mattered to him was to touch lives of the ordinary people.
The church service was attended by notable personalities including Senator Magnus Abe, Hon Dakuku Peterside and former chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers and Oba of Ogbaland, Eze Chukwumela Nnam Obi II.
