Yobo Eyes Return Against Rwanda
Nigeria Captain Joseph Yobo is hoping to make an early return injury, in time to be fit for the Super Eagles next home game against Rwanda.
Yobo was ruled out of the June fixtures after picking up an injury in the closing days of the Turkish League season.
But the defender, who was in Calabar to cheer on the squad, says he could be back earlier than expected, as his healing process was going faster than expected.
“We need a few experienced players to join this bulk and we will become the greatest national team in Africa.
“For me, I’m praying that I should be ready for the game against Rwanda, I’m really missing my teammates on the pitch”, Yobo said.
Yobo praised the efforts of the team against Namibia, saying their resilience was a sign of good things to come.
“The fact that the team was able to get a win against Namibia after squandering several chances should give Nigeria hope that this is a team for the future and sooner than later they will be scoring the number of goals that the fans want”, he said.
