Super Eagles To Remain In Calabar

Football fans in Calabar who wished that the Super Eagles stayed put in the Canaan City for their matches appear to have gotten their wish as the Nigeria Football  Federation, NFF has reached agreement for the team to play all home matches at the U J Esuene Stadium.

Speaking in an interview on Saturday, NFF board members, Chris Green disclosed that Calabar would remain the host city for Super Eagles’ home matches for the 2013 and 2014 Nations and World Cup qualifiers, respectively.

According to Green, “we ‘re pleased with the successes recorded so far in the city and have concluded arrangements with the Cross River State government for the team to play here.

Meanwhile, football fans in the city lamented the increased gate fee for the match against Rwanda.

Most of them said that it was high and prevented many people from being at the stadium to watch the game.
