Super Eagles’ Victory Excites Keshi

Cup of Nations qualifying return leg match against the Amarubi of Rwanda last Saturday at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, that his team would overwhelm the visitors with plenty of goals.

The goals harvest, according to him, would have been to appreciate Cross Rivers State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke and fans of the team.

But a the end of the match, Nigeria struggled to a 2-0 victory, which ensured that the Super Eagles qualified for the next round of qualifiers for the 2013 African Cup of nations.

Keshi was however, happy with the outcome of the match despite lack of the goal-rain he predicted .

Speaking to newsmen after the match the coach said, “The most important thing is that we won the match and the team has qualified for the next stage of the tournament.

“We will enjoy the victory, celebrate our qualification and begin to think of working on the mistakes”

He said that he would have loved to have won with a wider margin but that  two goals were not bad.

The coach noted that gone were the days when big names played the game, city the loss of Egypt at home to central African Republic as an example that there were no more small teams in the continent.
