PHRC Resumes Supply Of Products To Aba

The Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), has commenced pumping petroleum products to Aba depot from Port Harcourt Refinery.

The Managing Director of PPMC, Mr. Haruna Momoh who disclosed this in Lagos said that the depot had not received any supply in the last six years.

It would be recalled that the Abia State chapter of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of  Nigeria (IPMAN) on March 27, this year threatened to down tools should the PPMC failed to supply petroleum products to Aba depot.

Momoh confirmed that pumping of the products began at mid-day on June 11.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s 45,000 barrel-per-day Tema oil refinery has resumed production after sourcing crude locally, the plant’s managing director has said.

The refinery, which shut down for two days due to the lack of crude, has also secured a total of 900 million dollars in financing from international banks.

With the money, the refinery is to pay its debts and buy crude oil, Ato Ampiah, the managing director said.

According to him, BNP Paribas will provide 750 million, dollars, 450 million dollars of which will be used to pay off debts, while standard chartered will provide 150 Million dollars.
