PDP Tasks LG Excos On Integrity

The new local government and wards executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, have been charged to be good ambassadors of the party at the grassroots.

The chairman of the party in the State,  Chief Godspower U. Ake who made the charge on Monday during the inauguration of the new party executives at Degema, the headquarters of Degema Local Government Area, warned the party officers to disregard any  activities that may bring disrepute to the party.

Chief Ake who was represented at the occasion by the Assistant Financial Secretary, in the state, Mr Otiasah Livingston also urged the new officers to work unanimously to achieve the desire success for the party.

Speaking, the Peoples Democratic Party  chairman in Degema, Hon Kesibo Gogo Abite challenged the ward officers to work together with the local government executives to enable the team succeed.

The chairman of Degema Local Government Council, Mr Ibigoni Daddy Pokima urged the officers to always keep the PDP flag flying and assured that with their cooperation the PDP will not lose its grip of the local government area.

Those inaugurated included  Igbikioyibo Oruobo, vice chairman, Mrs Gift Graham, secretary, Mrs Helen Benson, Assist. Secretary and Ibifaa Harry publicity secretary.

Meanwhile, in Port Harcourt local government area the party executives were charged to always carryout their duties diligently and protect the integrity of the party at the grassroot at all times.

The chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini who stated this on Monday at the formal inauguration of the local government wards executives of the Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) in Port Harcourt, urged the party executives to see their assignments as important for the development and continued growth of the party in the wards and local government area.

According to him, the PDP as one of the largest political parties in Africa will always have challenges which also form part of democracy, adding that the national and state were looking upto them to build a strong foundation at the grassroot.

Speaking also at the occasion the chairman of the Port Harcourt City Council, Mr Chimbiko Iche Akarolo commended the new executives and charged them to carry out their duties without fear or favour.

Meanwhile the party chairman in the local government, Mr Ogezi Boms promised that the new executives will not fail the party in their new responsibility.
