The South East Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has put in place a machinery to reconcile all the aggrieved members in the party and settle intra party squabbles.

The Vice Chairman of the party in the zone, Mr Augustine Akobundu, made this known in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Abakaliki.

“I am very optimistic that we are not going to lose any state, rather we are going to recover the states that we have lost.

“We are working very hard to showcase the policies of the party, which you can see that are being manifested in the development thrust of our elected members, ‘’ he said.

He said that the party was working assiduously to win as many members as possible before 2015 general elections.

“This will come in two ways; we want to win those who felt aggrieved because of one reason or the other, and to win over entirely new members from other parties,” he said

On his assessment of the projects embarked on by the PDP states in the zone, Akobundu said: “It is very impressive. They are projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people.

“There is also an interface between the urban development and the rural development in the executed projects.

“Some of the infrastructure have direct linkages with one another, community to community and village to village. Such policy would fast track the transformation of the rural areas, and check rural-urban migration,” he said.

The Chairman of the party in Ebonyi, Chief Ugorji Ama-Oti, said the visit by the working committee would spur the party and government of Ebonyi to work effectively to provide more dividends of democracy to the people.

The PDP South East Zone Working Committee had earlier inspected the multi-million naira Ofuruekpe water scheme in Ikwo, the new rice mill in Ikwo, the Ochu Udo city project and the new international market, all in Abakaliki.
