Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited, New Logistics Base, has been urged not to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with any group of persons in respect to Avuha land situated at Rumuchiorlu Eneka in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State pending the outcome of the litigation pending in a State High Court.
In a two page letter supported with five paragraph affidavit, addressed to Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited, New Logistics Base, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt and made available to The Tide in Port Harcourt, Counsel to defendants in the suit, Barrister Amara, Buduburisi of Lawrence S. Okojaja & Co. Legal Practitioners demanded the immediate stoppage of such meetings until the determination of the matter which is before a substantive court.
“it is on this instruction that we write to demand that you stop further meetings with the said Messrs Samuel Opurum, Samuel Owunnah and Robbert Mbata, including payment of compensation in whatever manner, particularly as the said land is subject of litigation pending in the High Court of Rivers State in Suit No. PHC/2231/2011 between Philip Mbata and 6 others versus Mr. Iwezor Nweke and 2 others”.
According to him, such violation would amount to disobedience to the court adding that the defendants has instituted a perpetual injunction restraining all the parties involved, in the matter, servants, agents, privies.
