Kogi Repositions Civil Service Through ICT
Governor Idris Wada of Kogi, says the state civil service is being repositioned for efficient service delivery through the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Wada announced this in Lokoja while addressing workers of the office of the Deputy Governor, who recently completed an in-house computer literacy training programme.
Represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, the governor said the state was poised to key into the transformation initiative of the Federal Government through the ICT initiative.
He said the essence of subsidising laptops bought by the workers was to enhance their computer literacy and for them to have “unfettered access” to ICT facilities.
Wada assured the workforce of improved condition of service and enhanced welfare packages.
Earlier, the state Head of Service, Dr Moses Atakpa, commended government’s stance on the ICT, saying that its introduction would improve efficiency.
Atakpa added that the personal laptops would help the workers to get used to the new system and improve their efficiency.
