HOS Cup: Q/Final Matches Begin, Monday
After about two weeks break in the 2012 football competition for civil servants in Rivers State, chistened, Head of Service, HOS Cup, action is set to resume, as teams begin battle for semi final tickets.
On Monday, the eight teams left standing in the competition, Ministries of Health, Special Duties, Culture and Tourism, Power, Information and Communications, Sports and the Civil Service Commission will begin the quarter final stage hostilities.
The venue remains the Sharks FC Stadium, Port Harcourt, and the organizsers said that everything has been put in place to ensure that the competition continues to progress successfully.
They enjoined all civil servants, whose competition it is and lovers of football to throng the venue and cheer the teams positively.
In the first of the two matches scheduled for Monday, defending champions, the Ministry of Special Duties will lock horns with t heir Health counterparts in an encounter that promises thrills and frills.
Moments later, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and their counterparts in the Power Ministry will take to the pitch to decide the second semi final qualifier.
Indeed, the two matches are worthy of being seen live, as all the teams have shown some promises from the commencement of the competition.
On Tuesday, it will be the turn of former champions, the Mighty Sparrows of Ministry of Information and Communications and their Environment opponents.
The Ministry of Environment team is desperate to go all the way to the final and title of this year’s competition. It is therefore going to be a big deal getting the third semi final ticket because the Sparrows are equally determined to remain part of the business end of the competition.
In the second match of the day, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will tango with Ministry of Power for the ticket to complete the semi finals line up.
