Executive Officer Charges Parents On Children’s Upbringing
Parents and guardians in Nigeria have been strongly advised to pay more attention to the proper upbringing of their children and wards in order to secure a stable and brighter future for them.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cyncharles Entertainment Limited, and founder of an Enugu based Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO)-Girls for Change Foundation, Mrs. Cynthia Agbo, gave the advice last Sunday in a chat with journalists in Enugu.
Mrs. Agbo who is also the Managing Director, Miss Valentine Nigeria, equally called on government at all levels in Nigeria to leave no stone unturned in ensuring a better Nigeria for the children who are leaders of tomorrow.
According to her, no country the world over toys with the future of her youth because the future belongs to them, and “whatever affects them negatively invariably affects the future and development of the country concerned”.
She regretted that some parents and guardians in the country have abandoned their responsibility to their children and wards, concentrating more on pursuit of money, caring less about what the future holds for the young ones.
Maintaining that the importance of brighter and stable future for the children cannot be over-emphasised, Mrs. Agbo went on to advice the leaders of tomorrow to always have confidence in themselves and at the same time be the best of what they are and avoid by all means any negative act capable of ruining the future carrier.
On Enugu Women Award, Mrs. Agbo said: “Enugu Women Award comes not only as a celebration of our women achievers but also as a channel of motivating our young women through creating a platform for them to meet one on one with these achievers”, describing some of the awardees like the Enugu state commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Fidelia Akpa , as a woman of quality measures especially in the area of health system.
She, therefore, appealed to the authorities and leaders of various communities in the country to take not only positive but concrete action with a view to remedying the situation which she described as “worrisome” to women generally.
