An elder statesmen and public analyst, Elder Jide Fashakin has joined other good people of the country to condemn in its totality Sunday’s bomb blast in Kaduna that killed over 60 Christian worshippers, saying it is barbaric and inhuman.

Elder Fashakin who was reacting on the bomb blast in a chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt on Monday said the number of innocent souls that were affected  is alarming and called on the Federal Government to further intensify its security operations to protect lives and property.

The elder statesman, said the Boko Haram Sect that had been carrying out the bomb blast and causing insecurity in the country should be checked with all seriousness, before it degenerate to other parts of Nigeria, calling on the Acting Inspector General of Police, the Chiefs of Army Staff, Defence, Navy, Airforce and other security agencies to brace-up to the challenges by restrategising their operations.

He recounted the several attacks by the  Sect in several parts of the country and wondered if it is a political issue or a fight against Christians as they bomb Churches in the Northern part of the country including Abuja.

“Nigeria is a secular country where every one is allowed to practice his religion, and I believe it is not a terrorist nation like Iraq and Iran, and it surprise me that certain people could take the laws into their hands and create insecurity,  he said.

The analyst also noted that Nigeria belongs to both Christians and Muslims and that no matter the tribe, every one is free to establish business or means of livelihood anywhere, and further called on the security agencies to beef up their activities so that foreign investors could come to Nigeria and invest, adding that all hands must be on deck to have a better Nigeria.

Elder Fashakin, however, sympathised with all the victims of the bomb blast and enjoined all to join President Goodluck Jonathan to have the Nigeria of our dream.
