Amaechi Inaugurates Taskforce On Petroleum Monitoring
Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has pledged his administration’s determination to ensure that petroleum products meant for the state gets to the final consumers.
Represented by Mr George Feyii, the Secretary to the State Government, Amaechi made the pledge in Port Harcourt on Wednesday at the inauguration of the taskforce on petroleum products monitoring.
“The taskforce is to ensure the monitoring and effective distribution of products allocated to the state until it gets to the final consumers,’’ he said.
He urged the members to discharge their duties with the utmost interest of the state, noting that if done rightly, it would check corruption in the distribution of the products.
The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Gogo Fiberesima, thanked the government for the opportunity given to them to serve.
He urged members to see the task not as avenue for enrichment but to serve the people.
