PHCN’s Ghost Workers To Be Prosecuted

The Federal Government has set necessary machinery in motion to commence the immediate prosecution of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) ghost workers and their sponsors following the submission of the final report of the biometric verification exercise on all workers of the company.

Our investigations revealed that the federal government has set up a nine-man Biometric Review Reconciliation Panel to look into the final report submitted on the verification.

The committee The Tide reliably learnt will come up with recommendations for immediate resolution of all disputes and disagreements  between the industrial unions and the management of the PHCN.

The panel comprises representatives from the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ministries of Power, Justice, Labour and Productivity,  State Security Service (SSS), Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies, National Union of Electricity Employees as well as the Managing Director PHCN Mr Hussein Labo.

The panel is to be headed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, while the BPE will serve as the panel secretariat.

The panel has within two weeks to conclude its assignment and submit recommendations.
