Legislative Assembly to Immortalise Late Nwuche
The Ahoada East Legislative Assembly, has said it would immortalise the late elder statesman and traditional Ruler, HRH Eze Clifford Nwuche.
Speaking during a legislative session conducted in honour of the late monarch penultimate Friday, leader of the Ahoada East Legislative Assembly, Hon. Emeka Gorden, extolled the virtues of the late Nwuche, describing him as a man who contributed greatly to the development of Ekpeye Kingdom and the society at large.
He said the only way to keep the enduring legacies of the elder stateman alive is to immortalise him.
Also speaking, a political associate of the late Nwuche and former Chairman of the old Ahoada Local Government, Chief Christian Ediozu, described late Nwuche as a man who made great impact on the development of the area during his life time.
As a councilor in the old Ahoada Local Government Area, in 1976, he said the late Nwuche offered his stipend to award scholarship to indigent members of his ward. He noted that late Nwuche always stood for the truth and this endeared him to the heart of his people.
In his remark, son of the late Nwuche, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, thanked the A’East legislative Assembly for Honouring his late father.
He said his late father was a frontline advocate of resource control, a true democrat who believed in fairness and equity as the fulcrum of democracy.
He assured that the political philosophies which his father epitomised will be sustained.
