Kidnaps: Six Help Police Investigation
Six persons are now helping the police in Enugu with their investigation of kidnap cases in the area, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, the Public Relations Officer of the state command, has said.
Amaraizu said in a statement on Thursday that the suspects comprised five males and a female.
He said the suspects were arrested by a patrol team on the Enugu-Abakiliki expressway following a tip-off.
He said the police recovered a locally-made pistol, four cartridges and a taxi marked XV 337 ENU with fleet number 177.
He said the suspects had admitted that they were kidnappers, adding that they had been giving useful information in the investigation.
In a related development, a police patrol team at Ugwuonyeama on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway has intercepted a bus suspected to contain stolen goods, Amaraizu also said.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Musa Daura, commended the members of the public for their timely information to the police.
He said with the cooperation of the public, the police had made a huge success in sustaining peace in the state.
