INTELS Football Cup Gets Underway In Ogu

The maiden edition of Integrated Logistics Services (INTELS) football Cup competition for clubsides in Ogu, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State has kicked-off with six teams participating.

Speaking to sports journalists during the opening ceremony of the competition, Government and Public Affairs Manager of the company, Chief David Alagoa said the competition was part of the company to its host communities, symbol of cementing relationship as well as engage the youths meaningfully.

Chief Alagoa said talents discovered during the competition could be tapped for further engagement, adding that an earlier badminton competition sponsored by the company clearly proved that talents abound in the community, as most of the participants excelled during the last Rivers State Sports Festival.

He enjoined the players to show case their talents an dplay the game according to the rules, so that it would achieve its objectives.

The intels Government and public Affairs Manager further hinted that the overall winner of the competition would smile home with the sum of N500,000, runners-up N300,000 and third place finishers N200,000.

Also speaking, the vice chairman of Ogu /Bolo Local Government Council, Hon. Adokiye Iyaye, lauded the efforts of INTELS for living up to their social responsibilities and giving the youths a sense of belonging. He called on other companies to borrow a leaf.
