HOS Cup: Second Round Ends, Today

The second round stage of the ongoing
Rivers State Civil Service Football Competition, Christened Head of Service,
HOS Cup will end today with two matches. at the Sharks FC Stadium, Port
Harcourt.

The opening match of the day between the Government
House team and their Ministry of Sports counterparts promises goals galore,
considering their previous performances.

In their first round matches, Government
House hit Ministry of Urban Development
four . While Ministry of Sports walloped Lands 7-0, the highest goal
haul of the current edition.

It is expected that the two teams would
continue with their goal run today to give fans mare to celebrate.

The second match will see, the best losers
of the first round, office of the Head of Service and the Civil Service
Commission slug it out for the last quarter final ticket.

Last Thursday, the Mighty Sparrows of the
Ministry of Information and Communications and their Environment counterparts
advanced to the quarter finals with victories over Ministry of Chieftaincy and
Community Affairs and Justice, respectively.

While the Sparrows overcame their opponents
4-2 on penalty shootout after a goalless score line unreplied goals within
regulation time, Environment hammered Justice 5-0.

According to the organizers of the
competition, the quarter final matches would commence in the first week of next
month at the same venue.
