The Chairman of Enyimba FC of Aba, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, has chided his players for being goal-shy even when playing at home in the ongoing Nigerian Premier League.

Anyansi-Agwu told newsmen in Aba, Abia State that he was worried the players were still not able to convert begging chances to goals.

According to him, the club’s ambition is to use the competition to secure a continental ticket next season.

Enyimba is currently on the third position with 38 points from 21 matches after Rangers of Enugu and Kano Pillars which are first and second respectively.

“I am worried. We are trying to engage new players for the team with the window transfer still open, especially in the attacking role.

“The club has already secured the services of some new players, but has not fully cleared with their various clubs before they can play for us,” he said.

He added that the management would soon meet with its technical officials on how to improve on its present performance.
