The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Benin has promised to create 113,000 jobs in four years, if re-elected.

Mr Kassim Afegbuan, the Director of Media and Publicity, Oshiomhole Campaign Organisation, said that Oshiohmole would ensure that “each Edo son and daughter earns a living at the end of each month,” if re-elected.

According to him, the jobs will be created through a public-private-partnership (PPP) and foreign investment.

“The vision of ACN as a party and Oshiomhole is to reposition Edo for global competitiveness through partnership with the private sector to create jobs.

“We are motivated by the fact that the World Bank has keyed into the developmental process of the state governor,’’ he said.

Afegbuan appealed to the electorate to give the governor a second chance to enable him to construct a N12 billion ultramodern shopping centre that would generate 2,000 jobs.

Other areas that would be explored by the ACN Government, he added, were the construction of a four-star hotel to generate 500 jobs among others.

He added that the Orohonigbe Rubber Plantation and the expansion of Presco Oil Palm Company by 8,000 hectares would further create 500 jobs.

The ACN Director of rallies Mr Patrick Obahiagbon, said “we are happy to have a governor that has displayed real character of a leader”.

According to him, the present administration in the state has transformed Edo within a short time in the area of health, education, road and infrastructure.
