Total Appoints New Directors

Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited has announced the appointment of Mrs Edith Ofili-Okonkwo as an executive director, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs of the company.

In a statement signed by the firm’s Manager, External Communication, Mr Charles Ebereonwu, made available to The Tide, the company said the new executive director was also appointed in the board of Total Upstream Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Total Group of Companies.

Ofili-Okonkwo, a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1980 and an MBA from the University of Lagos in 1987.

According to the statement, she joined the then ELF Nigeria in 1981 and worked in the Exploration Department from 1981 to 1994.

Also appointed as an executive director was Engr. Olubunmi Obembe, a fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) to be incharge of Gas Business and Commercial.

In his capacity, he is to oversee the company’s interest in Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Domestic Gas and Power and Crude Oil Commercial Businesses.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Master of Business Administration from University of Port Harcourt.

He joined the services of the company in 1980 as a Petroleum Engineer and served in various capacities both locally and overseas in the first 21 years of his career which culminated in his appointment as Production Engineering Manager in 1998.

Incorporated in Nigeria in May 1962, Total Upstream is one of the major players in the exploration, development and production of the nation’s hydrocarbon resources. With offices in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
