RVHA Backs Riv Cloud Initiative
The Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee, said the House will support the state government to run a cost effective administration with the Riv Cloud Initiative.
Hon. Kwanee, who represented the Speaker, Rt Hon. Otelemaba Amachree at the launching of Riv Cloud last Tuesday in Port Harcourt, told newsmen in an interview that the Assembly would would promote efficiency in running government business.
The lawmaker, representing Khana constituency II in the Assembly, noted that the idea of e-government starting with the Education and Health sectors are innovative ideas that is first of its kind in the country.
He noted that the “Riv Cloud” represents an initiative that would bring growth and aid teaching in some core subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and Health care delivery system.
The Deputy Speaker lauded the vision of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), emphasising that time has come for all to be computer literate in line with global trend.
According to him, the event tallies with the vision of Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi when he was the speaker of the Assembly to have a paperless House, stressing that at the House today communication is done through ICT as each member is connected on line.
