Ogu Chiefs Honour Sekibo, ‘Morrow

The Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs will tomorrow confer a chieftaincy title of Igo Alabo of Ogu Kingdom on Senator George Thompson Sekibo (JP), senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The event will also feature a civic reception and inter-denominational thanksgiving service in honour of the Senator.

Six hundred persons in his senatorial district will also benefit from various empowerment facilities at the occasion.

Items to be presented include motorcycles, electric generators, deep freezers and computer sets with printers.

According to a statement issued by the organisers of the event, the civic reception will hold at the Civic Arena, Ogu Town by 8.am while the church service will take place at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Ogu by 12 noon. Refreshment will follow by 2.00pm and last till 4pm.

Chief host at the occasion is the Executive Governor of the State, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, the host is the Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Dame Maureen Tamuno while the Special Guest of Honour will be the Senate President, Senator David Mark.

The Mother of the Day will be the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan.
