Good Friday: FG Declares Today, Monday Public Holidays
Christians in Nigeria will today join their counterparts across the world to celebrate Good Friday, one of the important rites of Christendom
The day which is set aside annually to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ will witness sing songs and special prayers in churches across the country.
In appreciation of this , the Federal Government has declared today and Monday as public holidays while Sunday will be celebrated as Easter Day to commemorate the resurrection of Christ acclaimed mento and sole inspiration of Christendom.
The period, according to a cleric, Josiah Onyeibe is a time of sober reflection on the sacrifices which the Lord Jesus Christ made to save mankind from sin.
He enjoined Christians faithfuls to imbibe the spirit of selflessness which the death on the cross by Jesus signifies, for the advancement of mankind.
