A Port Harcourt-based medical organisation, Pan African Health Foundation, has called for increased use of quality equipment in treating patients, to enhance healthcare delivery in the country.

The Executive Secretary of the foundation, Mr Amenya Wokoma, told newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday that the public and the private sector should hasten patients’ recovery through the use of such equipment.

He said that his organisation was capable of producing 160 million quality syringes annually and appealed for patronage.

Our correspondent reports that Pan African Health Foundation, a syringe manufacturing organisation, was established in 2009 in Port Harcourt.

Wokoma said that the products were of high quality that could be compared with others elsewhere, adding that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had certified the product.

He stated that the foundation was the first to receive the certification in Nigeria, second in Africa and 16th in the whole world.

“It is the highest certification in the history of Nigeria, the first Nigerian company to have a WHO Performance, Quality and Safety (PQS) Certification,” he said.
