FG PENGASSAN To Dialogue On PIB
The Federal Government and representatives of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) are to meet soon to dialogue on the Petroleum Industry Bill implementation.
According to the national industrial officer of the union, Comrade Chika Onuegbu, the position of the union on the petroleum industry bill was to strengthen the legal framework of the bill for its effective implementation and operations of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
Comrade Onuegbu said PENGASSAN as a major stakeholder in the oil and gas industry sector must critically evaluate the content of the petroleum industry bill as it relate to the operations of the industry.
He stated that PENGASSAN’s position followed the report and recommendations of the union’s stakeholders on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) grey areas.
Comrade Onuegbu added that the dialogue will resolve the grey areas of the bill and pave way for its effective implementation.
Comrade Onuegbu who is also the state chairman Trade Union Congress (TUC) stressed that members of the union hope that the various stakeholder dialogue will strengthen the legal and operational framework of the bill for the benefit of the oil and gas industry sector.
