Dep Speaker Affirms Truth Of Amaechi’s Govt

Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Leyii Kwanee  says he will continue to speak the truth about the present administration concerning the development in Ogoni land and other parts of the state.

Kwanee, who stated this on Wednesday through a press statement by Mr. David Amusa, reacted to a comment by one Mr. Toate, urging the opposition in the state to stop making insinuations aimed at ensuring that the Ogonis remained the way they were without any development.

According to him, “No amount of comments including intimidations from Toate and other oppositions will prevent me from speaking the truth.

“We are sure that the oppositions are peeved that Ogonis are waking up and Governor Chibuike Amaechi is instrumental to that”, he said.

He urged the opposition to wait for the detailed report of the Ogonis in Diaspora Organisation, USA, on the achievement of Governor Amaechi in Ogoniland in which their preliminary reports confirmed the Governor’s laudable achievements.

Kwanee noted that the Ogonis have had unprecedented developmental strides now as against how they were in the past.

The Deputy Speaker also noted that Amaechi’s administration is a government that represents every sections of the state, including the Ogonis, adding that the Governor is in the same trench with the Ogonis in their bid to have justice from the oil companies.

It would be recalled that, Hon Leyii Kwanee said recently that the Ogonis have benefited more from the present administration than in the past.

Kwanee stated this when the Ogonis in Diaspora Organisation, USA paid him a courtesy call in his office after the former had conducted a survey of projects embarked upon by the present administration in the four local government areas of Ogoni.
