Companies Urged To Partner Govt On Job Creation

An appeal has gone to multinational companies operating in Rivers State to partner with the State Government on employment in order to reduce the level of joblessness and restiveness in the society.

The Commissioner for Employment Generation and Empowerment, Hon. Ipalibo Harry, made the appeal during a meeting with the management staff of C & I Petrotech Marine Limited in Port Harcourt.

He observed that the unemployment rate is a crucial issue to attend to and enjoined the management of C & I Petrotech Marine Limited to reciprocate government’s gesture and create employment opportunity to at least 30 indigenes of the state.

Responding, both the General Manager and the Group Head, Wisdom Nwagwu and Maurene Ogbonna, promised to make government request know to the appropriate quarters and maintained that their body was sensitive to the issue of unemployment in the state assuring their interest to relate with the ministry for sustainable result.

In his remark, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Barr Samuel T. LongJohn, thanked the management of C & I Petrotech Marine Limited and enjoined them not to relent in their affirmation.
