Woji Road Drainage Ready, May –Giadom

Drainage work on Woji Road in the Government Reserved Area popularly known as GRA in Port Harcourt has commenced.

The Commissioner for Works, Hon. Victor Giadom, who stated this during an unscheduled inspection tour of some projects in the state, assured that the drainage work would be completed in May.

Hon. Giadom enjoined residents to support and co-operate with government to ensure early completion of the project, expressing satisfaction with the quality and design of the drainage pipes.

Responding, the Managing Directr of Stemco Limited, Engr Gabriel Bitar assured that the scheduled date of completion would be adhered to, promising that at the end of the project, flooding in that area will be a thing of the past.

He however, advised builders to adhere to building rules to avert the menace of flooding.

Reacting to the Commissioner’s visit, Mr Adefe Banigo expressed happiness for government’s effort toward elevating their plight and called on the contractor to follow their contractual agreement.

At the Ultra-Modern Rumuwoji Market popularly know as Mile I Market, the commissioner expressed satisfaction with the corrective work so far done on the market and promised that work would be completed within the next 30 days.

He however appealed to the traders to co-operate with government to achieve completion date on schedule by opening the locked up stores to provide access to the market.
