Two Arraigned For Fighting In Public
Two men were on yesterday arraigned before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of fighting and disruption of public peace.
The duo, Taofeeq Adeleye, 28, and Akeem Azeez,32, were arraigned on a two-count charge of causing public disorder and fighting.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the accused on March 4 at about 8.30p.m at Iyana Irefin area of Ibadan engaged in a fight.
Adedosu said the accused on the same day, time and place conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause disruption of the peace.
She said the offences contravened Sections 83 and 249 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State.
When the pleas of the accused persons were taken, they both pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate Adeshina Adam granted them bail in the sum of N20,000 each and a reliable surety each in like sum who must be resident in the magisterial district.
Adam adjourned further hearing to March 26.
