SSS Arraigns Four Over Murder In Rivers

The State Security Service (SSS), Rivers State Command has arraigned four accused persons before a Port Harcourt chief Magistrate Court presided over by I.O. Agbesor Esq for alleged murder and rape cases.

The four accused persons Obi Uriah, Achilike Ogiri, Chinemere Uchenwa and Onyekachi Wokoma and others at large were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Agbesor on seven count charges bordering on alleged attempted murder, murder and rape relate cases.

The accused persons were said to have on 2nd July, 2011 at Eleme trailer park in Eleme Local Government Area of the state did conspire among themselves to kidnapp one Chijioke Akaka and later took him to a forest at Rumuekpe in Emuoha L.G.A.

The prosecuting Counsel told the court that the accused persons demanded ransom as a recipe to the release of their victim, adding that after the ransom was paid, the accused persons allegedly killed their victim, Chijioke Akaka.

The prosecution counsel further told the court the accused persons and others now at large also on 4th September, 2011 did kidnapp Johnny Oko Nkereuwem, Effiong as well as forcefully raped one  Simeon without her consent.

The accused persons did not take any plea on the charges brought against them. The trial chief magistrate, I. O. Agbesor (Esq) while remanding all the accused persons in prison custody averred that the court lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the matter before it due to the degree of the offences committed by the accused persons.

He directed the court registrar to forward the original case file to the Chief Registrar who will in turn transmit same to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. The case was later adjourned to 18th November 2012 for continuation.
