Rivers Scrabble Association Prepares For 18th NSF
As part of preparations for the forthcoming 18th National Sports Festival, (NSF), scheduled to hold November in Lagos, the Rivers State Scrabble Association (RSSA) has concluded plans to organise a scrabble tournament next week in Port Harcourt.
The states scrabble association secretary, Elder Tekena Lulu Pokubo, who disclosed this during an interview with Tide sports said that the competition, which is tagged “Rivers State Scrabble Closed and Open Tournament” would be organised to prepare athletes for the sports festival.
According to him, the competition would also be used to select qualified players to represent the state at the 18th National sports fiesta. He said that, the competition is open for all interested players within and outside Rivers State.
“The tournament is open for all interested persons within and outside the state to come and participate and be given an opportunity to represent the state should he/she display the required quality”, he said.
Meanwhile, the competition is slated for the VIP Hall of the Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt.
The scrabble scribe called on all participants to register for the tourney in time, as the deadline for registration is 22nd March, 2012.
