RIVCAS Regulates Sales Of Books, Handouts

The management of Rivers State College of Arts and Science, says the sales of books and handouts by lecturers to students would be regulated.

The Rector of the college Dr, Hillary Wordu  who said this last Thursday during the 21st matriculation ceremony of the college in Port Harcourt said prices of books would be regulated  by a special committe, adding that those recommended were to be sold to interested  students.

Wordu warned that the institution would deal  with any lecturer or its  agent or students caught selling heandouts and unauthorised books

He hinted that the college councils for all its programmes are structured to make great jobs rather than job hunters after the successful completion of studies.

The RIVCAS Rector, noted that the college had engaged the services of world class lecturers to ensure that all its progammes suffer no set back.

He further charged the students  to endeavour to tap from the teachers’ fountain of knowledge and experience.

He lauded Governor Chibuike Amaechi over the release of the 2011  budgetary allocation, and appreciated the efforts of the NDDC Chairman, Dr. Tarilla Tebepah for his assistance towards the actualisation of N100 million 2010 intervention fund when he was representing South South zone  on the  Board of Trustees of the Education Trust Fund (EFF).

He also warned students to shun any form of unlawful behaviour like sexual harassment, gambling, kidnapping, etc, saying that the school would not fail to invoke the law on any one found wanting.
